Your CV is personal information
A CV contains more about you than almost anything else you type online. Here is how CVWorks treats it.
This page describes accurately what CVWorks stores and processes today. CVWorks does not claim any formal compliance certification.
Account information
When you create an account we store your email address, a normalised (lowercase) copy of it used to recognise the same person across future Works applications, whether the address has been verified, an optional display name, and the dates your account record was created and last changed. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to CVWorks.
Saved CV data
When you save a CV we store the structured content you entered — personal details, work history, education, skills, certifications, languages, achievements, summary, target market — plus your chosen template and any cover letter you generated. Saved CVs are linked to your account and can only be read by you; access is enforced by the database itself, not only by the app.
Optional profile photos
A photo is always optional. If you add one and save your CV, the image is stored in private storage that only your account can read. It is not published at a public address. Deleting the CV deletes the stored photo.
AI processing
Features such as generating a CV from your notes, improving wording, comparing your CV to a job advert and writing a cover letter send the relevant text to an external AI service for processing. This means your CV text does leave our servers for those specific actions. CVWorks does not use AI to invent employers, dates, qualifications or skills.
Uploaded CV files
If you import an existing PDF or Word CV, the file is read inside your own browser. The original file is not uploaded to us and is not stored; only the structured result you then choose to save is kept.
Deleting your data
You can delete any saved CV at any time, which also removes its stored photo. You can also delete your entire account from your account page. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, saved CVs and career profile data, target jobs and evidence answers, cover letters stored with those CVs, stored photos, AI usage records, and the connection between CVWorks and your Works account. It does not cancel or delete your WorksHub account or any subscription you hold there — you manage those in WorksHub.
